Fraud Alert: Public Servants Are Targeted in Integration File Scam

Paru le mardi, 19 mars 2024 10:05

Public servants are being targeted by a scam that falsely promises expedited processing of their integration files, according to a press release issued by Joseph Le, Minister of Public Service and Administrative Reform (MINFOPRA), on March 16.

The alleged fraudster, identified as Daouda Njussa Njikam, is reportedly impersonating a ministry staff member and contacting public servants, particularly teachers with pending integration files at Minfopra, with the following phone number: 692717184. From each of his targets, he solicits money for expedited processing.

Le reminded the public that public service is free and urged vigilance against such scams. He encouraged users to report the imposter and assured that the relevant departments have been alerted to neutralize the offender.

Mobile phone scams are increasingly prevalent in Cameroon, with well-organized fraudsters often assuming false identities to exploit unsuspecting internet and mobile phone users. Public authorities, administrations, experts, and mobile phone companies regularly conduct awareness campaigns to help citizens guard against cybercriminals.
