The 13th All-Africa Games concluded on Saturday in Accra, Ghana, with Cameroon falling short of its top 10 medal finish ambition. The country ranked 17th overall, securing a total of 30 medals, including three gold. This performance marked a decline from the 2019 games in Rabat, Morocco, where Cameroon finished 11th with 28 medals, five of which were gold.

The Cameroon National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSC) reported that Cameroonian athletes won at least one medal in seven of the eight disciplines they participated in, with the volleyball team being the only exception. Notably, Emmanuel Eseme became Africa’s fastest man by winning the gold medal in the 100m race and setting a new personal record.

The 13th All-Africa Games, held from March 8 to 23, saw approximately 5,000 athletes compete in 30 disciplines. Egypt led the medal tally with 189 medals, including 101 gold. Nigeria followed with 120 medals, 47 of which were gold, and South Africa with 106 medals, including 32 gold. Host country Ghana finished in 6th place, earning a total of 68 medals, 19 of them gold.
