Cameroon's customs administration reported in a recent note it has collected more revenue than expected between 2020 and 2022. Out of a target of CFA2,318 billion, the Directorate General of Customs said it collected CFA2,457 billion over the period, an achievement rate of 106%.
"Customs tax revenues over the period under review have improved from CFA707 billion to CFA897 billion, up CFA190 billion (26.8%),” the Customs DG Edwin Fongod Nuvaga noted, recalling that unconsolidated revenues reached CFA897 billion in 2022, up over CFA33 billion from the previous year.
This year, the Customs administration eyes a total of CFA1,027 billion in revenue collection, the Customs DG announced on January 27 in Douala, on the sidelines of International Customs Day.
