From today December 14 to 17, Yaoundé is hosting a national workshop on public accounting, companies, and sustainable development goals.

The city, Yaoundé, was chosen by the secretariat of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) to host the workshop.

The said workshop falls within the framework of the second tranche of the “Development Account” program called “Enabling policy frameworks for enterprise sustainability and SDG reporting in Africa and Latin America.”

"This UNCTAD’s pioneering program aims to develop tools to highlight public companies and entities’ contribution to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals through their accounting system," explains the Ministry of Finance, which is the organizer of the workshop.

In addition to improving the transparency of accounts, this program will facilitate access to green and innovative funds for public and private firms.
