Members of the regional council of Cameroon’s western region held a 2-day ordinary session last May 26 in Bafoussam. The meeting, led by Jules Hilaire Focka Focka (pictured), the Council Chairman, ended with the adoption of a budget of more than CFA2 billion for 2021.
This session, the second in 2021, was also attended by the Governor of the region, Awa Fonka Augustine. On May 14, the Western regional council set up a strategic development plan and presented the Regional Plan for the Management and Sustainable Development of the West Cameroon Territory.
"The first step is to clearly specify our eight departments. We need to know what each department will bring, the opportunities, the needs, and the challenges and then we will be able to define a tailored plan for each of them,” said Jules Hilaire Focka Focka when he was taking office last January 22.
