The customer base of Orange Cameroon reached a total of 11,899,426 subscribers this year, according to data reported last week by the Ministry of Posts and Telecoms (Minpostel). This figure is well above MTN’s 11,099,576 subscribers, Nexttel’s 2,302,628 and the incumbent Camtel’s 1,800,015 subscribers.  

The Telecom department says the sector has experienced a strong improvement over the past years. Between 2010 and 2019, the total number of mobile subscribers in the country went from 8 million to more than 24 million, up 146%.

Let’s note that Minpostel adopted a budget of over CFA16 billion for 2022, down more than CFA5 billion compared to 2021.
