The Cameroonian government announced the opening of 4 training centers to reinforce the capacity of health workers in the country. The information was reported last December 13 by Minister Malachie Manaouda (pictured) during the launching ceremony of the National Medical Conference in Yaoundé.

"The quality of care in our health care facilities has always been criticized, rightly or wrongly. We want to change that,” the official said, stressing that he expects sustainable solutions will be found following the conference.

"Improving the quality of care is one of the essential conditions for the implementation of the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) currently being developed in Cameroon," he added.

The Yaoundé 2022 National Medical Conference, which opened at the Palais des Congrès on December 13, will last four days. It is the 16th conference of its kind to be held in Cameroon. The last edition was held fifteen years ago.
