Separatists reportedly attacked an army helicopter yesterday in Ngarbuh. The chopper was heading to the Ntumbah base when the incident occurred, leaving two soldiers seriously injured, sources said. According to other sources, one of the victims was killed. No official statement has been released by the military yet.
As a reminder, in February 2020, some soldiers and civilians from a vigilance committee in Ngarbuh attacked a village suspected of aiding separatist fighters. About 15 people died in the attack and soldiers were charged following an investigation ordered by the head of state. This incident led to the creation of an army base in Ntumbah.
