Canoe drivers will now have to take an aptitude test to practice their profession

Cameroon’s ministry of transport announced in a December 2 statement that it will organize a special session to examine the capacity of motorized canoes in two categories, namely: those with a power of 75 horsepower or less and those with a power of 75 horsepower or more. This means even canoe drivers will now have to take an aptitude test to practice their profession.

In a statement signed on December 02, 2019, Transport Minister Jean Ernest Massena Ngalle Bibehe announced that a three-day capacity enhancement period is recommended for experienced drivers and a month and a half for those who do not have the required experience.

The Minister, therefore, invites persons wishing to take part in the session to contact the certification centers approved by the Minister of Transport to find out about practical training methods.
