An internet user reported on March 25 a rumor suggesting that Orange Cameroon is planning a reorganization of all Orange Money accounts, thus depositors should quickly go get their money before such operation is done.

The information is not true. A source at the company told us the service is not going to be reorganized and specified in this regard that “Orange Money Funds are guaranteed by the financial guarantee Bicec, Orange's regulatory partner.”

The operator thus posted a message (published by the Customer Experience Director on its facebook page) aimed at reassuring its customers. “No operations likely to have an impact [on Orange Money accounts] are in progress.” Orange Cameroon also calls on customers to carry out their “transactions in complete serenity.”
